The sequencing platform at the IKMB consists of one Illumina HiSeq 2500, 3000, 4000 and NextSeq 500 each, as well as two MiSeqs and three Applied Biosystems 3730xl DNA Analyzers. We can thereby cover the whole spectrum from small-scale sequencing projects up to human whole genome sequencing.
We perform sequencing for external partners as part of a scientific collaboration aiming at a joint publication. If you are interested in sequencing at the IKMB, please fill out the sequencing request and send it to the contact person specified below. If needed, we can then also provide a quote for your sequencing project. For all projects, we provide barcoded sample tubes which need to be filled and sent back to us together with the official sequencing order. If not agreed upon otherwise, the results will be provided as raw data in fastq format.
Please keep in mind that we are not able to offer all read lengths listed by Illumina for the respective sequencers, but only those commonly used for the protocols we offer. Exceptions for whole runs are of course possible.
We routinely offer the following sequencing protocols. Please click on the application for sample specifications. For inquiries please contact ngs-info [at] ikmb.uni-kiel.de.
- Whole genome & de novo sequencing
- Whole exome sequencing & custom enrichment
- RNA sequencing
- Microbiome sequencing (16S & metagenomics)
- Sanger sequencing
Regular platform meeting:
Bi-weekly Wednesdays at
- 08:10 AM (odd weeks only) for DNA laboratory, Genotyping, Microbiome laboratory and Sanger,
- 8:30 AM (odd weeks only) for "Next-Generation" Sequencing
ZMB, conference room 4th floor, Am Botanischen Garten 11, 24118 Kiel
The meeting is open for collaborators who want to discuss or prioritize their ongoing projects at the IKMB. For registering a new project please contact the respective platform leader.
