Genome sequences have become a valuable tool in studying a range of biological and medical questions. However, while the data generation is becomingly increasingly affordable, the bioinformatic analysis can be incredibly complex, involving at least a dozen different tools and requiring highly parallelized workflows, specialized hardware and a complex set of data.
Our team at the IKMB has been part of numerous genome projects, including several mammals and birds, and can provide guidance and hands-on support for your planned project. We not only offer detailed instructions for the different stages of a genome project as well as tested pipelines required to produce robust data but are also happy to provide hands-on support in the assembly and annotation of your genome. Together with our NGS core facility, we can produce and sequence all the necessary libraries in-house, if desired.
