Ateequr Rehman, senior research scientist at Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology (IKMB), received Norgine Gastro Award 2018.  Rehman and team have shown that the sterile fecal filtrate transplantation is able to limit the life threatening Clostridium difficile infection and restores intestinal microbiota. Sterile fecal filtrate transplantation instead of fecal microbiota transplantation reduces the plausible fecal microbiota associated infection, metabolic or malignant disease risk, especially in immunocompromised patients.
