Together with his colleagues Joana P. Bernardes and Archana Bhardwaj from the Systems Immunology Group of the Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology (IKMB) Florian Tran, clinician scientist at the IKMB, is currently developing novel analysis methods for IBD tissues. The scientists got the funding (50,000 €) for this project from a mini proposal grant they received from the Cluster of Excellence Precision Medicine in Chronic Inflammation.

On 2 November, 2021 Florian Tran explained their approach in a television report on the TV channel NDR, comparing the novel analysis with football stadiums.
