Kathrin Boersch is a communications designer, specialized in medical interfaces. She studied communications design B.A. at Mannheim University of Applied Sciences and did her Master’s degree in medical design at Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design.

At the IKMB, she is associated to the research group “Digital Health and Science Communication”, led by Prof. Andre Franke.
Her main project is the website “Statusplus® Probandenportal” (Kiel “DZHK OMICs Ressource Studie”), where she is the project manager and designer.
She is also involved in the Clinical Data Management and the development of the E-Health-App.

As a medical interface designer, shareholder of the Kiel start-up Triode UG and mother, she is also part of the Woman@Tech campaign of the "Digitale Wirtschaft Schleswig-Holstein" (DiWiSH).
The “Digitale Wirtschaft Schleswig-Holstein” (DiWiSH) wants to dispel the cliché, that IT and technology are only for men once and for all. Therefore, they launched the high-profile Women@Tech campaign on World Education Day, September 8, 2021. Its aim is not just to get more women interested in the digital industry. It makes the female side of the digital industry visible. The campaign’s focus: female role models in the digital industry. "The 'Women@Tech' campaign is a powerful impulse into schools and educational institutions, into the executive floors and teams of companies and, last but not least, into the minds of people," said DiWiSH Project Manager Dr. Johannes Ripken and Women@DiWiSH Section Head and Board Member Regine Schlicht.
