Dr. Lina Welz, a young scientist from Kiel, recently received the 2022 Research Award from the Walter Schulz Foundation. The prize honors work on clinical cancer research by young scientists and is endowed with 10,000 euros. As a Clinician Scientist of the Cluster of Excellence "Precision Medicine in Chronic Inflammation" (PMI), Welz is on the one hand completing her residency in General Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the Clinic for Internal Medicine I of the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH), Campus Kiel, and in parallel is conducting research in the field of chronic intestinal inflammation at the Institute for Clinical Molecular Biology (IKMB) of the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and UKSH.
