We would like to invite you to our SYSCID Symposium “Multi-omics of Chronic Inflammatory Diseases. From molecular signatures to novel clinical diagnostics” taking place in Kiel, Germany from 29 to 30 August 2022. Please find the conference flyer attached. The majority of speakers intend to participate in person as the entire conference is primarily intended to be an in-person meeting. Yet, there will also be the opportunity to follow the meeting virtually.

We are very pleased that a number of top-notch speakers have confirmed their participation already. The line-up of speakers include: Manolis Kellis (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA), Alex Shalek (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA), Maja Jagodic (Karolinska Institutet, Sweden), Sofia Forslund (Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine, Germany), Christoph Bock (CeMM Research Center for Molecular Medicine & Medical University of Vienna, Austria), Triantafyllos Chavakis (Technische Universität Dresden, Germany), Kenneth Smith (University Cambridge), Bram Verstockt (KU Leuven, Belgium), as well as Costantino Pitzalis (Queen Mary University, UK).
Poster & Rapid Fire Talks
As part of the symposium, we will also organise a poster session and a series of Rapid Fire Talks (i.e. succinct 5-minutes talks) aimed at young scientists with research experience at the late phase of their PhD studies as well as at the medical specialist or post-doc levels (or an equivalent academic training). Out of all submissions, ten Rapid Fire Talks in total will be selected. For those researchers selected for a talk, accommodation and travel costs will be covered by the SYSCID project. Plus, we also offer the participation in a summer school from 30 to 31 August 2022, directly following the SYSCID Symposium. The summer school will include a lab tour of the facilities at the Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology (IKMB), Kiel University alongside a training module (seminar/demonstration/hands on) in single cell data analysis and integration with other data layers.
