Research Interest

I’m curious about host-microbiome interactions and how this relationship is affected by the industrialization of human lifestyles. I’m currently focused on investigating bacterial cholesterol metabolism in the human gut and the role that bacterial-derived extracellular vesicles have on the gut ecosystem. My day-to-day routine usually involves culturing experiments as well as computational analyses of metagenomic data.
