Research Interest

Our goal of this experimental work is to comprehensively characterize the biodiversity and phylogeny of the Bacteroides/Phocaeicola (B-clade) and Prevotella/Segatella (P-clade) genera. This will be achieved by leveraging metagenomic data to identify the most abundant and prevalent species within these clades, constructing detailed phylogenies based on available online data, and comparing the results to isolate data from global culture collections such as GMbC and DSMZ.

To address potential gaps, we targeted isolation and characterization of these species from fecal samples will be conducted, with a particular focus on less-studied non-Western populations.
