Research Interest

My focus area is understanding environmental adversities that lead to IBD risk. My aim is to establish in-vivo and in-vitro models to investigate how the external environment pollutants, such as microplastics alter the host’s mucosal defenses and trigger an overeating immune response. Such research offers the potential to deepen our understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms of IBD, which, in turn, could lead to the development of new lines of treatment and disease prevention.
