My focus area is the optimization of computationally intensive scientific algorithms on hybrid computing systems and high-performance computers (HPCs) by using Graphical Processing Units (GPUs) and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), as well as exploring the opportunities for System on Chip Architectures (SoC) for bio-informatical algorithms. My current project is the optimization of algorithms for Genome-Wide Assoziation Interaction Studies (GWAIS) with modern GPUs and FPGAs.
