Locations
The main core of the Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology is located in two different buildings, one in the hospital area in the centre of the city, the other on the main university campus.
Comprehensive Center for Inflammation Medicine – CCIM
The university building is a carefully renovated old hospital tract that now harbours the administration department, a small lab for science in connection with translational medicine and, as the main structure, the Comprehensive Center for Inflammation Medicine, a big outpatient clinic concentrating on clinical care in immune-mediated diseases and nutrition medicine. Completed in 2008, the CCIM was awarded one of the nation-wide awards in the “Land der Ideen” (“Land of Ideas”) competition.

Zentrum für Molekulare Biowissenschaften – ZMB
The majority of the Institute’s laboratories and technologies are located in the Center for Molecular Biosciences (ZMB). Designed by the internationally renowned architect, Gunther Henn and partners, the concept resembles an organic form based on three circles of different sizes. The interior design is highly flexible and creates room for open communicative structures within and between lab groups.
