Research Interest

My research activities focuse on the investigation of sarcoidosis, mainly on the genetic background of the disease. After conducting a number of SNP-based genome-wide association analyses on sarcoidosis, I use modern sequencing technologies in ongoing projects, such as whole-exome sequencing. Future studies will aim at the discovery of rare risk variants and will help to explain the “meaning” of the discovered factors in the context of sarcoidosis.
