Research Interest
Understanding the pathophysiology of gastrointestinal disorders is my main focus. I started my career by exploring the immunogenetics of celiac disease and, afterwards, the pathophysiology of collagenous colitis. Now I am determined to comprehend the communication between intestinal epithelia and underlying mucosal cells, and study the effects of pregnancy in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
